Grant’s Grapple was born from the journey of our son, Grant, who was diagnosed at just 18 months old with ATRT, a rare and aggressive tumor of the brain and spinal cord. Until July 2023, Grant was a happy, healthy child. His diagnosis marked the start of an incredibly challenging chapter, as he bravely endured six months of intensive treatment.
In January 2024, we celebrated the incredible news that Grant was cancer-free. However, in March 2024, Grant tragically relapsed and passed away on March 30th, leaving an irreplaceable void in our lives.
Throughout Grant’s journey, we were deeply moved by the kindness and generosity extended to us during our darkest moments. That light and kindness carried us through, and we now strive to honour Grant's memory by passing that light to others.
Grant’s Grapple is dedicated to supporting families facing similar battles. Our mission is to provide central line vests to all children under the age of four, ensuring their safety and comfort during treatment. Additionally, we aim to provide vouchers to new families arriving on the ward to help ease their burden and provide a small source of comfort during an overwhelming time.
Grant’s legacy is one of kindness, resilience, love, and community. Through Grant’s Grapple, we aim to bring hope and support to those who need it most.
